  1. Here are filter plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop 3.0 for Macintosh.
  2. You may use and distribute them freely.

  7. Rotate Color 1.0.0, Create B/W 1.0.0, Kwick Mask 1.0.0,

  10. System Requirements
  11.  
  12.    * Any Macintosh computer running Adobe Photoshop 3.0.0 or later.
  13.    * Will not work with older versions.
  14.    * FPU not required.
  15.    * There is no plan for Windows versions.

  17. Common Features (or 10 Reasons to Download)
  18.  
  19.   1. Full size preview window which is movable, resizable, scrollable and
  20.      zoomable.
  21.   2. Small thumb nail preview for quick preview (except for Kwick Mask).
  22.   3. Toolbox similar to that of Photoshop. Very intuitive to Photoshop
  23.      users.
  24.   4. Background processing. They just don't wait "OK" button.
  25.   5. Semi-modeless operation. You can do the filtering while you are goofing
  26.      off on AOL.
  27.   6. The progress box gives you an estimate of the finishing time.
  28.   7. Small memory requirement (except for Kwick Mask).
  29.   8. Ugggh... I run out of idea.
  30.   9. ...still no idea.
  31.  10. ...and Yes, they are FREE!.

  33. Downloading and Installing Plug-ins
  34.  
  35. All files are compressed and encoded ("*.sit.hqx" files).
  36. Many (most of?) Web browsers automatically decode and expand them for you.
  37. But if not, you'll need StuffIt Expander or similar software.
  38. After decoding and expanding the file,
  39. move it (it'll be a folder) into your "Plug-ins" folder and (re)start
  40. Photoshop.
  41. Please read the "*.doc" file in the folder for usage.

  43. The Plug-ins
  44.  
  45.    * Rotate Color (version 1.0.0, 28k bytes)
  46.      This is the most fun plug-in of all.
  47.      It rotates the color in the RGB space.
  48.      Confused?
  49.  
  50.    * Create B/W (version 1.0.0, 26k bytes)
  51.      This is the coolest plug-in of all, if you are into B/W photography.
  52.      It creates black and white (gray scale) images from RGB images.
  53.      It lets you adjust the ratio of red, green, and blue in the final gray
  54.      scale image.
  55.      It also allows you to adjust the brightness and contrast.

  57.    * Kwick Mask (version 1.0.0, 39k bytes)
  58.      This is the most useful plug-in of all. It's a tool rather than a
  59.      filter.
  60.      It creates a selection from RGB images.
  61.      It works similar to "Color Range" command in Photoshop,
  62.      but it lets you set the tolerance explicitly in either HSB or RGB mode.
  63.      It also allows you to use up to 31 sets of tolerances.
  64.      It requires extra (image_width*image_height) bytes of memory.

  66.    * Adjust Saturation (version 1.0.1, 91k bytes) [Image] w/ examples!
  67.      This plug-in gives you more control over the saturation adjustment.
  68.      It can adjust the "contrast of the saturation".
  69.      By increasing this contrast, you can saturate the saturated color even
  70.      more,
  71.      and saturate the un-saturated color even less.
  72.      This filter conserves either the luminance Y = 0.30R + 0.59G + 0.11B or
  73.      the intensity I = (R + G + B)/3. Conserving the luminance Y usually
  74.      gives better results.
  75.      A bug on masking the effect is now fixed.

  77.    * Modulate Color (version 1.0.0, 79k bytes) [Image] w/ examples!
  78.      This plug-in modulates the HSB (hue, saturation, and brightness) value
  79.      of the image using the mask value. The saturation and brightness
  80.      control work very similar to those of Photoshop's Hue/Saturation
  81.      adjustment.
  82.      The difference is that, with this filter, the mask value determines the
  83.      amount of hue rotation rather than the opacity of the effect.
  84.      Therefore, it is essential to use density masks with values between 0
  85.      and 255 rather than simple masks with value 0 and 255 only.

  87. Misc. Notes
  88.  
  89.    * You DO need Photoshop 3.0.0 or later.
  90.    * They are 68k code resources.
  91.      There are no PowerMac versions at this moment because I don't own one.
  92.    * They have been tested on Quadra 660AV, II-ci, LC-III, and PM 6100.
  93.    * I strongly doubt that these plug-ins (especially Kwick Mask)
  94.      work with any other applications such as Fractal Design Painter or
  95.      MicroFrontier Color It!
  96.      because they use some features specific to Adobe Photoshop.
